IF YOU’RE LIVING IN SLOUGH, THIS LIST WILL MAKE YOU GO “OH. MY. GOD.”
Do we all live the same life??
1. You tell people you live in Windsor
Let’s be honest. You’ve done this at one point in your life.
In an attempt to come across as more sophisticated, you’ve told people from outside the area that you’re from Windsor – living next to Windsor Castle too, no doubt.
While Windsor can be a fun day out, Slough has objectively better food. Speaking of which…
2. You can tell the quality of a chicken burger just by looking at it.
Living in Slough, we’re spoilt for choice for great food – but nothing tops our world-famous, pseudo-Michelin-starred fried chicken shops! Slough locals are aficionados for fillet burgers and can spot a good one from a mile away.
Even Raheem Sterling couldn’t resist grabbing a Spicy Number Six from Chicken Delite on Farnham Road…
3. You have your no-go zones.
Salt Hill Park after dark, Bath Road during rush hour, Chalvey… pretty much all the time. We’ve probably just sent shivers down your spine…
Although Slough is full of fun things to do, there are certain areas you’ll stay clear of unless it’s an absolutely necessary, life or death situation – like buying three naans for a pound from Rotinaan Wala.
4. You’ve got the best escape rooms in the area.
The top-rated activity in Slough, and for good reason, Bust Out 360 is your go-to spot for kids parties, date ideas, even corporate team building events.
With four award-winning rooms, each with a unique adventure – from escaping your kidnapper to stopping a hijacked train, preventing an apocalypse to developing a pill that grants super-powers. Bust Out 360 are some of the best escape rooms in Berkshire, and definitely the best entertainment option near you!
5. You know half of slough by their nicknames, their cousins, or their road name
For a town of 150k+ people, it sure seems like everyone knows everyone!
You can hardly pop into Tesco, get your haircut, or go to your kids birthday party without running into your uncle’s cousin’s neighbour’s old schoolmate who now lives in Goodman Park in Wexham…
Don’t even ask what his real name is – everyone knows him by the same nickname he’s had since he was six.
6. You’re proud of your home-grown talent
With the likes of Hassan Azim, Adam Azim and Amar Kayani taking the boxing world by storm, to the plethora of independent businesses across town run by Slough locals, it’s hard not to feel a sense of pride for our town!
Slough definitely doesn’t deserve the stereotype it have “Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough!” as those who live here know it’s true beauty.
